Europe India Centre for Business and Industry is proud to acknowledge the contributions of young leaders who will play an important part in shaping EU India trade relations during the next few decades. #EuIndia40, an initiative of EICBI to discover Top 40 under 40 EU-India Leaders, will cover the stories of these young leaders and their contributions in promoting EU India relations.
On 10th April 2019 at the European Parliament in Brussels, Europe India Centre for Business and Industry Patron Hon Caroline Nagtegaal, Member of European Parliament - Netherlands & Vice Chair for EU delegation for relations with India, released a list of 40 under 40 leaders who have been playing a key role in promoting EU/ India and UK/ India trade and relations.
The 2019 class of EU - India leaders (UK was still officially part of EU when the summit was held) included 16 women and 24 men from all walks of life and represented 16 different nationalities - Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, India, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom. The list featured the stories of young entrepreneurs, policy leaders, thought leaders, business executives, trade body leaders, all under the age of 40, who are going to play an important part in shaping European Union - India trade relations during the next few decades.

Aryaman is a German Chancellor Fellow at the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin. During his 2018-2019 fellowship, he will focus on Germany's foreign policy and its engagement with Afghanistan. His wider research interests include Indian foreign policy and political and security developments in South Asia, particularly Pakistan and Afghanistan. He has previously worked as a project manager and advisor for Friedrich Ebert Stiftung India's Peace and Security program, as an associate fellow with the Neighbourhood Regional Studies Initiative at the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi, and as a research officer with the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, New Delhi. In 2017 and 2018, he was also a Global Governance Futures 2027 Fellow, focusing on transnational terrorism.

MEP Caroline Nagtegaal is devoted to building an honest economy that profits both traditional family businesses and starts-ups in the Netherlands and in the EU. While job creation is her top priority, she wants to advocate for a sustainable economy that takes nature in account and rejects a culture of disposability.

Research Fellow - Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi)
As a research fellow in Berlin, Garima leads GPPi's work on the global order, and focuses on the foreign and security policy of rising powers, including India and China. Her current research is concentrated on Europe-Asia relations. She is the scientific coordinator for the EU’s Asia-Pacific Research and Advice Network (APRAN), which supports EU policymakers on issues concerning the Asia-Pacific. She also heads the EU-India policy dialogues on global governance and security, a project jointly conducted by GPPi and Carnegie India and funded by the EU Delegation to India. She has published widely on a number of issues, including Indian foreign and security policy in Africa, connectivity projects in Asia, maritime security in the Indian Ocean, EU-India relations, and Germany-India ties.

EnvoPap, the brand of Sugarcane based paper from Paper plus Europe,which was started in 2015 and has made a revenue of 5.5 Million so far by exporting Sugarcane based paper made in India across Europe. envoPAP is composed of 80% sugarcane fibres and 20% wood fibres. Every metric tonne of envoPAP produced saves 50 trees from being potentially chopped down for manufacturing paper . Currently, envoPAP is working on creating the most earth-friendly straws, crisp packets, food packing materials and more from waste materials of agriculture residue. Kaushal sees sustainable development as a core business of the sector, paving the way for securing a safe and healthy working environment and the desire to develop sustainable products.

Funds raised from the programme contribute significantly to the continued operation of HOPE’s over 60 projects in Kolkata. Based in Brussels, she is a Senior Expert in the Public Diplomacy Project of the European Union Delegation to India and is India Associate fellow at Center for European Policy Studies (CEPS) and at Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI). Between 2014 – 2017 she moved to Delhi, working on EU-India defence cooperation. She previously worked for the EU, NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, and the International Institute of Counter-Terrorism in Israel.
